(9) HOW MUCH Did My Villa COST In Sicily? Full Price Breakdown & Essential Buying Tips In Italy!
This week, I dive into some essential groundwork at my villa in Sicily! 🌞 Starting off, I clear out overgrown brushes, trees, and branches spilling over my garden wall from the neighbor’s side. Despite the intense midday heat, I’m determined to open up space and improve access—especially with plans to bring in more materials for future projects.
Next, it’s time to tackle a large, unruly tree on the side of the house. Using a handsaw to keep noise to a minimum during the locals' siesta, I trim back dead branches that block the path. After piling up branches, I head to a local bakery to refuel with some Sicilian treats before returning to work.
Back at the villa, I take a moment to appreciate the almond tree in the back garden—a nice reminder of the rich produce this space offers. I then set to work relocating all the cut branches from the side of the house to the back garden, making way for more renovation tasks ahead.
To tackle a stubborn tree stump, I fire up my new Stihl chainsaw—a big upgrade from the one I bought earlier that didn’t quite make the cut. The chainsaw makes short work of the stump, breaking it down into manageable pieces to transport across the property.
After raking down the side of the house to clear leftover debris, I share an update on some of the challenges I've faced, like the issue with my previous chainsaw, and the satisfaction of finding a local store that stocks reliable Stihl products. As a fan of the brand, I’m thrilled with the quality upgrade!
In the outro, I discuss plans to replace any trees removed with new plantings, keeping the villa’s garden thriving and lush. I’ll also be putting my new petrol grass trimmer to work next week to give the entire garden a much-needed trim. 🌱
