Ealing Broadway shopping centre opened in 1984, after several years of work and it transformed Ealing’s town centre. It was officially only opened in March 1985 when Her Majesty Elizabeth II arrived on her one official visit to Ealing. She was met by the Mayor of Ealing and many well wishers. A plaque was unveiled to mark the occasion and can still be seen.
