The 2021 WEF Global Risk Report warns of a potentially "Fractured Future" whereby social, economic and business stability is at risk - that is, if we don't proactively come together to to address our global vulnerabilities and build in a better resilience to future macro threats.
In recent years our global community has become significantly more divided - Trump politics, BREXIT, Global Trade Wars, Covid19, border shutdowns, hard lockdowns, social distancing... they have all played their part in dividing our world. In turn, our planet's nation's are no longer collectively collaborating on addressing all those lingering macro threats such as climate change, natural resource shortages, increasing poverty, escalating pandemics and the like. Such global fragmentation only exposes us all to further macro threats....
Now it would be easy to ignore such a warning but remember, this is the same report that in Jan 2019 (10 months before Covid19) warned us the "World is Sleepwalking into Crisis" due to our collective Nation's failures to prepare for known macro threats (including pandemics). Then in Jan 2020 (during Covid19) the same report warned us our world's healthcare systems are ill equipped for dealing with a major pandemic - spot on point, both times
