On the border between the nations of Iraq and Kuwait, runs Highway 80/Highway 8, one of the main road links between the two nations. This stretch of road however, would earn the infamous moniker of "The Highway of Death" during the Gulf War in the early 1990's. This is the story of how this stretch of highway earned its dubious name, and the events preceding it that leading up to it.
