After the heartbreak of missing the first tournament on the Cincinnati Kayak Fishing schedule when my car broke down a couple of weeks ago, I was so happy to get to fish the next tournament at CJ Brown Reservoir on April 14. The winds were 15-20 mph sustained, so getting across the lake and holding the kayak in position was a real challenge and in the end I didn't catch any fish. I feel like I always start the CKF season with a couple of skunks, but this year I was hoping to do better! Just have to win one of the upcoming tournaments to make up for another bad start to the season!

I was so impressed with how my Hobie Lynx handled the waves and the wind! I've been out in wavier conditions from boat wakes but never winds this high, so I was apprehensive about if it would be blown around but I always felt in control and safe.
