Should you use Google or Adobe in your web design project?

In this video, I discuss whether or not you should use Google Fonts or Adobe Fonts in your Webflow Projects. I talk about licensing, some potential issues that can arise if you are working on client projects and how to best handle those situations.

For example, if you know how to use Google Fonts, you know that most of the fonts are licensed under an open font license, meaning the fonts can be used, modified, and distributed freely. The only caveat is you cannot sell them.

When choosing fonts for Webflow projects, we can use Google Fonts, upload a local font, or use Adobe Fonts. As a web designer, I know firsthand the importance of typography. With all the hours spent choosing the right typeface for our websites, we want to make sure that it loads properly and efficiently. After all, when it comes to load time, time is of the essence.

Some might have a preference when it comes to comparing Google Fonts to Adobe Fonts, however, there are similar typefaces that exist on both platforms. Let's say you have an affinity for Helvetica Neue. Google Fonts has a comparable alternative in Inter. If you are looking for an alternative to Futura, Google Fonts has Jost.
