Galicia was the most affected region in Western Europe during the 1970s and 1980s. The Galician healthcare system underwent a radical transformation as a result of that epidemic, and today this autonomous community has the most advanced vaccination schedule in all of Spain.
Specifically, this year we learned that Galicia will invest nearly 3 million euros to vaccinate the population against meningococcus B.
But this documentary goes beyond the data of the past, also showcasing the present reality. You will discover this in the upcoming chapters.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the documentary, as this great project would not have been possible without them: Doctors Federico Martinón and José María Martinón, the president of the Xunta de Galicia Alfonso Rueda, the mayor of Vigo Abel Caballero, our president Cristina Regojo, her parents Pedro Regojo and Poty Balboa, Rosita, Vicky, Andrés, and the relatives of both.
Sponsors: GSK, Sanofi, the Villanueva de la Cañada City Council, and the Spanish Vaccinology Association.
