Raxaul, Nov 02 (ANI): Nepalese police on Monday forcibly removed the agitating protesters from their sit-in spot on crucial Miteri Bridge at Indo-Nepal border, opening the Birgunj-Raxaul border point after 40 days. The protesters initially hurled stones towards police when the latter started removing them early this morning. They were eventually chased away by police. The Madhesi protestors claimed they were baton charged by the Nepal Police for blocking the bridge at the Indo-Nepal Border. Subsequently, over 200 Indian trucks that have been stranded in Nepal due to the protest by the Madhesi community, made their way back home on Monday morning. However, no trucks have been allowed to cross into the Nepal border from India. The truck drivers expressed happiness on their return. Meanwhile, heavy security has been deployed at the Indo-Nepal border to curb any impending agitations.
