It's about the people that live there, the little details that make them unique. Today we'll take a look at the Russian oblast of Lipetsk and find out what's unique about them.

1. Lipetsk Oblast is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast).

2. Before the formation of Russia, the lands of the present Lipetsk region were inhabited by the Baltic tribes, which from about the 7th-8th centuries were gradually assimilated and displaced by the pre-Christian Slavic tribes of the Vyatichi and northerners who settled to the northeast along the Oka and Don

3. Lipetsk is a city and the administrative center of Lipetsk Oblast, Russia. The name means "Linden city" and is cognate with Leipzig and Liepāja.

4. Lipetsk Air Base is an air base in Lipetsk Oblast, Russia located 12 km northwest of Lipetsk. It is the combat training center of Russian Air Force.

5. The Shukhov Tower in Polibino is the world's first diagrid hyperboloid structure designed in 1896 by Russian engineer and architect Vladimir Shukhov. The tower is today located in the former estate of Yury Nechaev-Maltsov in the selo of Polibino in Lipetsk Oblast in Russia.

6. Lipetsk is the core of the largest agglomeration in Russia with a specialization in the field of full cycle ferrous metallurgy, as well as an industrial, agro-technological, and aviation center. The main enterprise of the city is Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), which is the largest steel plant in Russia.

7. Galichya Gora is a Zapovednik or nature reserve located in Yeletsky District of Lipetsk Oblast. It is the smallest nature reserve in Russia.
