Standen BX Bed Former models are available in various widths to form beds to grower specifications. Hydraulic folding frames are available on multi-bed machines. Standen Powavator rotary tillers can also be equipped with BX ridging bodies, enabling them to cultivate and form beds simultaneously.

There's a choice of Auto-Reset legs for stony soil types or Standard Shearbolt legs. Standard equipment includes Concave ridging bodies, while Convex ridging bodies can be specified for lighter soil types. Standen BX Bed Former machines are ideal for preparing ridges before soil separation/destoning prior to potato, carrot or other root crop plantings.

Standen Bed Formers and Powavator rotary tillers were formerly manufactured by Dowdeswell Engineering Ltd. In 2001 Standen Engineering Limited purchased the IPR, manufacturing rights, designs, manufacturing equipment and parts inventory for Dowdeswell soil cultivation and bed forming machinery. Powavator rotary tiller and Bed Former manufacturing were transferred to Hereward Works, Ely in the same year.
