A pan-flat transitional stage from Modena to Cattolica will then give the GC contenders a chance to rest up. With only 200m of climbing along the 177km-long route, stage 5 is almost guaranteed to finish in a big bunch sprint. We say ‘almost’ because you can never rule out the threat of crosswinds in this part of Italy; if they start to blow then this stage could get very interesting.
