It happened again, and this time I was actually able to get out and record it this time. Amtrak trains 49 and 29 would be combining just outside Kendallville, IN due to the P40 locomotive on 29 breaking down. I was hoping this would happen after I heard 29 was having engine issues, and sure enough it did. I decided I would go out and catch this special train at MP 429 with one of my friends. By the time the train passed us 29 was running over 6 hours late while 49 was running 5 hours late. Definitely another strange day for Amtrak that's for sure, and I'm glad I got to see it. Enjoy!
