DePue, Illinois is likely a place that you've never heard of, even if you live in the state of Illinois. It's located about 2 hours west of Chicago along the Illinois River, or about an hour north of Peoria. The town's economy thrived off of a large industrial plant in the early 90's. Unfortunately that plant has made half of the town a Superfund site. A giant pile of toxic waste towers above most of the town, and nothing is being done about it.
