Caribbean leaders and representatives from international organisations will meet in a Regional Dialogue in preparation for the United Nations Food Systems Summit.
The Caribbean encounter will take place on 28 May and will address the integrated food system challenges for the region and the longstanding commitment to transformation of its food systems.
The discussion will build around three core themes: Food Security, Climate Resilience and Funding and Financing. It will seek to gather Member States’ views on the key aspects of the region’s food systems challenges and on the regional-level proposals that should be highlighted in the international conclave.
The participants will include the Ministers of Agriculture of Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica and The Bahamas, the President of Guyana, representatives of CARICOM, IICA, OECS, the United Nations Development Coordination Office, WFP and FAO, as well as farmers groups, civil society organizations and the private sector.
