South Korea, China and Japan have vowed to boost trilateral cooperation as they prepare for a meeting of their foreign ministers slated for late March.
South Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Lee Kyung-Soo met Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin and Japanese counterpart Shinsuke Sugiyama in Seoul on Wednesday to take a preparatory step toward holding upcoming talks of their ministers.
The three officials agreed to improve ties in various projects such as the environment, disaster management and nuclear safety matters.
The forthcoming foreign ministerial-level meeting, which is regarded as substantial progress for the restoration of trilateral cooperation, will be the first in three years.
