Over the past few months, we have been busy getting our skills up and our planning down. We are starting a small scale market garden and have recently started selling produce to locals. Up until now, the garden has been watered by hand which has taken up considerable amounts of time. I have been looking for ways to irrigate our system which require the lowest possible capital cost and have finally decided on this drip line I sourced from Agriplaas ([ Ссылка ]).
I may still include overhead irrigation as we expand further and I get an electrical point for a pump. For now, this system runs on water sourced from my ram pump and flows via gravity to garden with a maximum head of 5m or 0.5 bar. I have blocked this system into 4 blocks because the drip line in non-compensated and I am trying to keep each block in a fairly similar elevation to minimize differences in the drip-rate.
