Okay, beware - a rave review is coming. First of all, let me note that I received these glasses at a discount in exchange for my honest, unbiased review; which honestly is amazing. Even the case for the glasses had me in complete amazement. It is absolutely gorgeous (and smells like fresh wood) inside the circular tube is the glasses and a soft case & cleaning cloth to make sure you keep the glasses in amazing condition. The glasses themselves are a big larger in size, they look great on my female face, but also fit my husband great. The wood etchings on the side are amazing & seriously I have been stopped everytime I've worn them with questions and compliments. They are very sturdy & even float in water. They have already had plenty of trips to the pool & waterpark and are holding up perfectly. I toss them in the soft carrying case & then in the hard wood circular tube after each use to keep them in great condition & am absolutely IN LOVE with them.

I recognize that a review of a free product is something fundamentally different from that of a product for which one has paid, but I believe such reviews can be useful when the process is respected and I've tried to do that for you here.

What are these and why might I want them?:
These Wayfarer style sunglasses have frames crafted completely from maple wood. The arms have artwork subtly carved along their entirety, from the temple to the ear hooks. Even the bridge has a nose piece carved in so that the glasses hold during activity. The lenses are dark and are advertised as polarized meaning they are treated to eliminate glare.

Do they work?:
Let's break it down:

Polarization: I tested this claim with a simple polarization test picture and yes, these lenses are indeed polarized.

Maple wood frame: The frame is very well crafted. Both sides of the glasses are symmetrical and the lenses fit within the frame as well as plastic or metal framed glasses. The maple is light weight and it floats. I doubt you'd want them in the water for long or very often for that matter, but if you're using them to ski or wakeboard at least having them fall off won't mean they're gone forever (I must have 5 pair at the bottom of Shasta Lake).
