STORYLINE
KELLY CHEN INTRODUCES NEW BABY, LAU SING
Hong Kong singer/actress Kelly Chen faced crowds of photographers as she left Canossa Hospital with her new-born son on Wednesday (15 July 2009).
Chen gave birth to a healthy boy on July 10th.
Wearing a black outfit and sun glasses, she left the hospital accompanied by her husband Alex Lau.
She kept saying "thanks" to the press without further comment about her early child-delivery.
The couple decided to name their baby Lau Sing in Chinese and Chase in English after reviewing various baby names and discussions with other family members.
The meaning of the baby's Chinese name is 'rising sun'.
The singer was rushed to hospital on 9th July after she started to feel uncomfortable, one month before the estimated date of child delivery.
Chen announced her pregnancy last November and continued working for commercials and on a new album till early July.
Chen married her husband last October in a fairy-tale style wedding ceremony at Hong Kong Intercontinental Hotel.
The singer's assistant Leo Tam said Chen will be back working on her new album in September.
"She will make the baby a priority, but that doesn't mean she is not going to keep working. She will try to balance both sides as best she can," he said.
