A bit about us ... KATANI = Kat So Poetic + Amani O+ Poet & Emcee. We are a rap duo repping upstate NY who was able to turn the frequently immobilizing pain of misogyny into the fuel necessary to examine, expose and dismantle these systems as counter-intuitive and harmful to us all.

Our ultimate aim is to educate uplift and unite people with a specific focus on folks who patriarchy, racism and oppression make invisible. We started creating together after a lot of trauma this past summer and we've been doing what we can, on our own and with friends, with what we have and who we know to spread an alternative message to the misogyny that permeates our music and culture on a whole .
