There is something seriously wrong with Godzilla.

Not only does the monster attack its ally, the spiked-back Anguirus in brutal and bloody fashion, but it also sets out to destroy everything in its sight. This is unlike Godzilla's more recent behavior as a monster fighting for good. This Godzilla is vicious and unstoppable. But when another Godzilla appears, it is quickly revealed that the one who attacked Anguirus is a mechanical imposter (albeit disguised on the outside as Godzilla). This is Mechagodzilla, one of the most popular characters in the Godzilla film series, and one who has had numerous variations over the years. But this Showa Era version of Mechagodzilla has one function... to kill Godzilla!
This 1974 film has it all: Okinawan prophecies, Space Titanium, space apes (an alien race called the Simians from Black Hole Planet 3), a robot version of Godzilla which is literally a weapon from head to toe, a new ability for Godzilla, and includes the introduction of the great monster protector, King Caesar! This popular monster would not appear again until 2004's "Godzilla Final Wars," but its debut here is spectacular.
But it will take more than popularity to stop the evil force that Mechagodzilla. It will take joining forces with Godzilla (who nearly lost its life in an earlier fight) and even some help from a group of humans to stop the deadly alien weapon. Godzilla and King Caesar are drawn together (talk about magnetism) for a reason, and that reason is to save the world from Mechagodzilla!
