Hello, horse friends! 🎥
So, this video is a request from some of you, and I’m super excited to share it! Originally, I wanted to film outside, but winter decided to show up with its snow and icy vibes, so we took it indoors instead. Trust me, it worked out way better!
Today, we're diving into some training tips for young horses, especially focusing on our awesome Norwegian Fjordhorses! The grey fjordhorse is sired by our very own stallion, and we are so proud of both! These guys are smart and fearless, so using force just isn’t an good option here. Instead, I'll show you how to create a positive experience that builds trust and confidence.
We’ll chat about why it’s important to be mindful of the gate during training—because, let’s be real, young horses can magnetically be drawn to it! I’ll share some cool strategies like setting up tasks that encourage them to make good choises and using a calm, experienced horse as a buddy to help guide the way. It’s all about tapping into their herd instinct!
I’ll also cover some common pitfalls that can happen if training goes south, like trust issues, mixed signals, and overreacting to pressure. Yikes, right? But don’t worry, I’ll give you tips on how to avoid these issues right from the get-go.
Remember, every horse is unique, and what works for one might not work for another. So, while I’m sharing what works for us, there are tons of amazing trainers out there with their own insights. My hope is that you find something useful to help with your own training journey!
Let’s get into it! Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and drop your thoughts in the comments below! 🐴❤️
