Have you ever wanted to learn the drums but don’t know where to start? If so, this for you - Yamaha’s DTX402 series are high quality electronic drum kits that can be played through headphones so you don't disturb your neighbours, and it is packed with all the teaching tools you need to take you on your drumming journey.
The Yamaha DTX402 kit sets up the same as a real drum kit, with electronic pads replacing the acoustic drums and cymbals. The kit is controlled by the module which has a wide selection of high quality sounds to suit many styles of music.
On-board training functions and songs make playing enjoyable and rewarding, and there's plenty to keep you engaged. You can also plug in your music device and play along to your favourite songs, or you can download Yamaha’s free Apps to give you even more options.
The Yamaha DTX402 kit is based on a standard 5 piece set up with a strong and sturdy rack which is height adjustable for any size or age, and folds away easily for storage.

You can mute the cymbal just like a real one or change the sound depending on how hard you play the pad.
The Hi Hat consists of the pad and the pedal, just like a real one, and means you can go from the DTX402 to a real acoustic kit without effort.
The DTX module which houses the sounds is designed to be simple to use with backlit buttons to guide you through the many features. There are 10 on-board kits, made up from 287 on-board sounds, and they can all be customised.
In this video, Simon demonstrates a selection of kits including the Pop kit, Jazz, Hip Hop and Metal.
Along with the different drum kits, the module also has;
1. A built in metronome to help improve your timekeeping
2. 10 built in songs to improve your playing
3. 10 built in training functions to help with different aspect of your playing – this one is called Rhythm Gate and it doesn't make a sound if you don't play them in time
4. And you can also record yourself very easily
Yamaha have fantastic free apps that will allow you to do much, much more. All that is needed is your smart device, a USB cable, and a suitable adaptor.
