A gorgeous tropical beach wedding of Tawni & Bryan Ruffino at the Grand Plaza on St Pete Beach. The Grand Plaza is ideal for aerial video and photography with its palm tree ceremony sites and distinctive 10 story high rise with the circular rotating restaurant, Spinners, at the top. The reception was in the Presidential Ballroom which is just below Spinners on the 9th floor. The Presidential Ballroom with its floor to ceiling windows has the best view of any wedding venue in Pinellas County overlooking St Pete Beach and the Gulf of Mexico. After sunset, there is usually a nice glow from the orange sky which you see during the father daughter dance on this video..
The Ceremony took place on the north ceremony site. Some brides prefer the north ceremony site because it is further from the outdoor bar, however, when the bride party walk down the aisle you'll have the bar in the background. Both ceremony sites are very nice, but I probably prefer the south ceremony site, because the trees are alittle taller and you do not have the bar in the background during the processional.
For the ceremony site we used 4 ground level cameras including a GoPro in the sand. The GoPros seem to always give us pleasant suprises when we edit the video. In this wedding the flower girls was tossing some of her petals during the ceremony and the wind was blowing it right to the GoPro, as one of the petals landed right on the lense. We also love to get the bride and groom as the walk over the GoPro and the brides train sweeps right over the lense, Awesome!
In the air we fired up the drone towards the end of the ceremony as the bride and groom kiss, you see the bride laughing as she sees the drone fly over their heads.
The Grand Plaza is such a great wedding venue, not only because of the spectacular scenery, but also the staff is always very nice, and the food is great.
