It has mention in Shiva Purana wherein Mount Kailas was surrounded by Trees including the CHampaka.

Also has mention in the Bhavatham - wherein the Gopis would talk to the Champaka flowers asking if they have seen Lord Krishna.

The fragrance of this flower is unique and it is not used to workship Lord Shiva
