"It's my first time in this festival. I've been to Telluride more or less eight times, holiday. I love this place, I love the people. Everyone has always been so nice to me here. And I've heard a lot about the festival so I'm very excited to come and I come with a movie that is very special to me, 'Volver.'"

"You know this festival changed my life in many ways. For those of us who attend a lot of festivals and go are lucky to enter the festival circuit. Telluride is really unique because first of all there are things like this. Not only the atmosphere and the environment but we actually get the time to have real conversations with our peers and other filmmakers that work on other projects."

TELLURIDE FILM FESTIVAL
The 33rd Telluride Film Festival honoured actor Penelope Cruz for her award winning work with director Pedro Almodovar in, "Volver." Cruz's award was presented to her in a ceremony where she was asked to continue attending the festival and making great films.
"It's my first time in this festival," admitted Cruz. "I've been to Telluride more or less eight times, holiday. I love this place, I love the people. Everyone has always been so nice to me here. And I've heard a lot about the festival so I'm very excited to come and I come with a movie that is very special to me, 'Volver.'"
Along with its honourees the festival also celebrated Oscar hopefuls such as "Volver," "Babel," "Little Children," "The Last King of Scotland," "Infamous" and "Fur."
Among it's participants was actor Forest Whitaker who was there representing one of the Oscar hopefuls, "The Last King of Scotland."
"There was all these filmmakers and different people there and it was really interesting because normally with a festival you don't get to congregate like that," noted Whitaker. "Normally you are separated. Normally I am just doing press. I don't get to see any films. After this is event I am going to go see a film..."
Past festival tributee Laura Linney was there supporting "Jindabyne."

The Telluride Film Festival ran from Friday, September 1st through Monday, September 4th.
