Cooper accused the home secretary of being 'dangerously complacent' in tackling issues highlighted within the 300-page report. She added that Braverman's response to the investigation was a continuation of the 'hands-off' approach at the Home Office that Casey had criticised. During the debate, Labour called on the government to set out its strategy for tackling officers accused of domestic abuse and sexual assault across the UK. Braverman responded by accusing Cooper of 'crass political point scoring' and said the government was in full support of the Met police commissioner, Mark Rowley, who accepted the findings and vowed to undertake reforms.
