The Jat regiment is intertwined with India’s military history. However, it has also become a pivot in the army’s sporting culture, especially wrestling. Many champion athletes and wrestlers have emerged from this regiment, most recently CWG gold medalist Deepak Punia & Bronze winner Sandeep Kumar.
