'Every Time' echoes back to the story of Apollo who, in Greek mythology, fell in love with Daphne the water nymph after being shot by cupid. Unfortunately, cupid shot his love interest with a lead arrow, leading her to resist Apollo's advances and force him into an unrequited romance. As such, despite his dogged pursuit of her, she remains always just beyond his reach...
