On May 10th, 2024, at approximately 1053 hours, I was parked at a BP gas station on Donald Lee
Hollowell Parkway as I was parked. I observed a red Dodge Ram TRX pickup truck with a
window tint violation. The front windshield was tinted with dark film material. The vehicle left
3260 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, a Chevron gas station. It traveled south on Bolton Road. As
the Ram truck traveled south, I traveled behind it. I observed the pickup traveling at a high rate of
speed.
I continued to see the tail end of the red pickup traveling around curves. I did not immediately
inform Troop C Comm that I was in pursuit, due to past experiences where drivers were speeding
for no reason and unaware, I was behind them. After I observed the red Dodge continued traveling faster than normal, I informed Troop C Comm Center that I was in an active vehicle pursuit. I
informed Troop C of my location and vehicle description.
As I pursued the vehicle, I slowed down due to the traffic conditions (residential area conditions,
and the sharpness of the road curves). As I continued traveling south on Bolton Road, I observed a
silver SUV that looked to be intentionally blocking both lanes of the roadway. After traveling
around the vehicle, I observed the red Dodge pickup disabled due to a serious crash. I informed
Troop C Comm center of the crash and to contact all emergency services.
As I approached the crashed pickup, I observed blood coming from the driver-side area. In
addition, I observed the driver’s seat relocated partially out of the cab. The driver of the vehicle
was still strapped in the driver’s seat by the seat belt. He was not moving.
Shortly after, Corporal Bullock and TFC. Tennant arrived on the scene and assisted me with
handling the crash and crowd control due to bystanders attempting to enter the crash scene. I could
not render aid to the driver due to the amount of blood lost and the physical damage to the truck. I
observed blood coming from his head and ear area.
I notified Troop C Comm to request Troop C SCRT. Shortly after, SFC. Moremen, Sgt.
Youngblood arrived, as well as TFC. Phillips from SCRT. TFC. Tennant and I assisted TFC.
Phillips with the crash investigation by placing marker flags around the area of impact.
Corporal Bullock was able to locate the driver’s wallet and identified the driver as Keiwon Tucker
of Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Tucker's license information was returned valid through GCIC/NCIC and
a warrant for his arrest out of Douglas County for shoplifting. In addition, during a partial vehicle
inventory, I observed a backpack in the front driver floorboard area.
I retrieved the bag and inside was a Kel Tec Pistol with no serial number on it, 2 small bags of
suspected crack cocaine and some personal items. TFC. Phillips completed his crash investigation,
and I called the Fulton County medical examiner's office and requested their service. The medical
examiners arrived at the scene and completed an investigation. Shortly after, the transportation
company for the medical examiner's office recovered Mr. Tucker’s body and it was transported
away from the crash scene. S&W recovered the vehicle. Troop C Communications was advised to contact Douglas County in reference to their warrants
for Mr. Tucker and informed them of the situation.
