China denies its vessel beamed lasers at the Filipino crew of BRP Malapascua in the recent incident that appears to escalate tensions in the West Philippine Sea.

Beijing's foreign ministry, saying that the equipment it used does not inflict damage and that Manila's claim "does not reflect the truth."

The Philippine Coast Guard bared that on February 6th, the Chinese vessel aimed a military-grade laser towards the Filipino ship on a resupply mission in Ayungin Shoal causing temporary blindness to its crew.
