Uncovering Valparaiso's Hidden Treasures | Chile Travel Vlog

In this video we explore the city of Valparaiso in Chile! This city is known as the jewel of the Pacific and is also home to Chiles legislative Congress and the headquarters of the Chilean navy.

Valparaiso is the second biggest city in Chile and one of the reasons we came to visit was to see the famous bohemian, artistic streets with great views overlooking the port and the Pacific ocean.

We start off by going straight up one of the famous 16 tiny funiculars in the city which is an experience in itself! Matt at the top by a completely different place to the streets below, this area is full of color, street art and views across the city.

We wander around and meet some friendly locals and find the best place for lunch with a view, if you’re visiting Valparaiso we highly recommend lunch at Cafe Turri it was such a great way to soak in the area and relax.

After lunch we explore more of the bohemian area and find ourselves following a trail of ants to a very unexpected but delightful location!

We finish the day down in Plaza Sotomayer after taking another of the 16 funiculars down. This square feels worlds away from the bohemian streets above that we’d spent the day exploring, Plaza Sotomayer is much busier and to be honest definitely didn’t feel as safe so you might notice we didn’t do too much filming once we got down there.

Valparaiso is so unique and is the kind of place you have to see to believe, we hope this video gives you a good taste of it!
