Serena Borrelli, MD, Université catholique de Louvain & Hôpital Erasme, Université Libre de Brussels, Brussels, Belgium, describes the challenges with using the central vein sign (CVS) in its classical form for lesion evaluation, noting that measuring the proportion of CVS-positive lesions may be too time-consuming for routine clinical practice. They propose a simplified "Select3" or "Select6" approach which involves identifying at least 3/6 CVS-positive lesions to assess if a scan is CVS-positive or negative for MS diagnosis. This new approach demonstrates good diagnostic performance and is considered a promising alternative for clinical use. This interview took place at the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) Annual Meeting 2024 in Helsinki, Finland.
