Hey all, welcome to the part 2 of 2 of Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice. This is the with commentary version, as i upload both with, and without commentary videos. This story focuses highly on Mental health issues, which the main character, a Viking women named Senua, suffers from. The sound stage in these games is second to none, and is a massive part of the game, as it highlights what it would be like to suffer from mental health issues such as Psychosis and schizophrenia, as Senua hears voices in her head, which you get to experience through the exceptional 3D soundstage. In part 1 we got to know a bit about Senua, and of what she is trying to do. Her mother was thought to be possessed by a darkness, well according to her extreme father anyway, when Senua was just young, he also accused her of being possessed by the same darkness as her mother, and was locked away by he father, apparently to protect her and everyone else from her darkness. This obviously confused Senua a lot as she was growing up and made her very introverted. That was until she met he lover, Dillion, who was the first person, other than her mother, to treat he like and actual human being and eventually show her true love. He was also the one who showed her how to use a sword, so taught her how to be a warrior. The plague then hit Senua's settlement, like it did so many in those days, and she was accused by her own father as being the one responsible for bringing the plague upon them, which the whole settlement then believed. I think, but im not 100% sure, that she then went on some personal quest to try and rid herself of this darkness that he father had convinced her that she had, but Dillion made her promise that she would come back to him, as he loved her and and she loved him. When she returned, as promised, she found her settlement in ruins, all the people were either dead or had been taken as slaves by the attackers. She then saw Dillions body which had been strung up, severely mutilated and had his skin slashed and stretched from his body. This was the point that Senua's really started losing it, as Dillion was he only one who had really loved her unconditionally and now she was alone. Im not sure if it was the villagers who had done that to Dillion before the attackers arrived, due to his association with Sanua and them believing that she had brough the plague upon them, or if it was the attackers who had sone that, because he had fought back against them, but either way, it filled Senua with guilt, like it was somehow her fault. She then was told in a vision, that Dillions sole had been damned to hell, and that the only way to save his sole, was to take his head, which the used o belie was the seat of the sole, to hell and beg or force, Hella to release his sole to her. When we got to the gates of hell though, it was locked and we needed to defeat both the god of fire, and the god of illusion, to open the gate to hell, which we did and have now opened the gate. That was where we left it in pat 1 and where we will pick it up today! So, lets crack on with this awesome bit of storytelling and come join me on this journey through the world of the Vikings.
