Video showcases the Pharmafill BCV1 Bottomless Conveyor from Deitz Company, Wall, NJ setup with a companion bottom coder to automatically print lot codes, expiration dates and other traceability information directly on the bottom of plastic bottles, glass bottles, jars and other containers without removing the bottles from the packaging line.
Also compatible with inkjet printers and a variety of laser marking devices, this hugger belt conveyor is shown capturing glass bottles from a sanitary, plastic conveyor and suspending them over a coder for marking. The expiration date and other regulatory information prints automatically on the undershide without flipping or rotating the bottles while they continue moving without slowing or stopping. The bottles are held between dual gripper belts for printing, then transferred onto a rotating turntable to be accumulated for boxing and cartoning.
At the end of the line, a bottle is pulled from the powered turntable to show a closeup of the bottom coding.
The side belt transfer conveyor is shown running at a single speed, however, this BCV1 bottomless conveyor comes with a variable speed drive to easily adjust the speed based on the bottom coder capabilities and the speed of the filling line upstream and the packaging line downstream. In shooting the video, the speed and height of the bottomless conveyor were easily adjusted to match the speed and height of the plastic conveyor belt and stainless steel turntable for smooth, seamless transfer from the conveyor to the bottomless conveying system to the rotating turntable.
The side belt transfer conveyor is shown standing on both leveling pads and casters. Deitz includes both sets as standard for easy installation and to allow movement from one packaging line to another as needed. The entire bottomless conveyor as shown is designed and manufactured at the company's New Jersey headquarters and delivered assembled and tested with a warranty.
