In the middle of July we visited Dun Mor Hillfort, situated in the picturesque Sma' Glen. It was a tough way up, but an overall enjoable experience. Just across from Dun Mor in a nearby field lie the remains of Fendoch, a Roman fort. Because of the proximity I decided that I wanted to visit it as well. However, I came a little underprepared and was unsatisfied with the extent of footage I got at Fendoch, so I held off on the video to potentially visit in the future. More than a month later we finally had the opportunity to have another look, albeit not directly on site. But there was another thing I found out in the mean time: there is a Roman signal station, which is paired with Fendoch, and we completely missed it the first time. So we went and explored the Sma' Glen Signal Station too. I also go a little bit into the history of the Gask Ridge forts (of which Fendoch is a part), the Northernmost frontier of the Roman occupation in Scotland. If you have a favourite Gask Ridge fort that you think we should visit, let me know. I hope you enjoy the video!
