Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the 41st GST Council meeting via video conferencing in New Delhi today. MOS Shri. Anurag Thakur, Finance Ministers of States & UTs and Senior officers from Union Government & States were also present in the meeting.
The agenda of this Council Meeting was to work out ways and means relating to compensation for loss of revenue arising from the implementation of GST.
In the GST Council meeting today, FM Nirmala Sitharaman laid all her cards on the Table; presents two viable options before the States to make up the shortfall in collections caused by Act of God, the Covid-19 Pandemic in compensation to States for their loss.
