Council is pleased to support a wide variety of community groups through our grants program.
Council offers a range of grants that provide financial assistance to projects that address local needs and aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the community.
In 2011, Council supported more than 250 not-for-profit groups through the grants program and by providing discounted use of our facilities.
The breadth of the grants program and the variety of projects it supports reflects the diversity of Yarra's community.
Some of these projects are featured in a short film, which showcases how local community groups work creatively to foster social inclusion, sustainability and community wellbeing.
The group featured in the film groups are:
• Richmond Junior Eagles - Special Needs Soccer Program
• Light Up Atherton - Resident Arts Project
• The George Wright Hostel - Commemoration Project Launch
• Fitzroy Primary School -- Student Kitchen Garden Program
• Circolo Pensionati Italiano -- Exercise Program For Italian Seniors
