Most of us opt for gulab jamun using readymade, store bought, instant mix as its easy and quick to make, cheap in price compared to other sweets in shop. Even though the ingredients used in the gulab jamun mix are the same, there are many brands available in market with their own variation and style.One of which is UTTAM readymix. I follow the steps written on packet carefully and the result was awesome, perfect!! I was elated to see my soft and sweet Gulab Jamun and jumped out of joy!
Tips:
(1)-Adding milk for making a dough helps to give soft jamuns. You can use water as well.
(2)-Dough should be really soft so you can make crack-free gulab jamuns out of it.
(3)-Greese your hands with ghee before making balls &make smooth balls.
(4)-First deep fry only one jamun. It should float on surface slowly. If it comes out on surface too quickly then slow down the flame and let the oil cool little bit. Otherwise balls will get darken snd remain uncooked from inside. so be carefull while frying.
(5)-Sugar syrup should not be too hot while you drop the jamuns. It should be medium hot or warm. Make sugar syrup enough for all the balls to absorb and dunk in completely, else jamun will not turn soft and double in size.
