Friedel-Crafts acylation of chlorobenzene is a reaction in which the addition of an acyl group to an aromatic ring takes place in the ortho and para position. The reaction will lead to the aromatic ring being transformed into ketones ie a mixture of 2-chloro acetophenone & 4-chloro acetophenone. Here the para isomer 4-chloro acetophenone is the major product. .
