Tamil Cinema writer and director Chitralaya Gopu shares his experiences with Dir Sridhar, Sivaji Ganesan, Nagesh, Manorama and many other notable artists. A Bosskey TV exclusive on Heartist.
Chitralaya Gopu is a well known and highly popular Indian screenwriter and director who has decades of experience in Tamil cinema. He has written scripts/dialogues for nearly 60 films and has directed 27 of them. He was the brainchild of many sentimental films like Moondru Dheivangal, Shanti Nilayam and was in his elements in scripting comedy films like the evergreen Kadhalikka Neramillai, Galatta Kalyanam and Utharavindri Ullae Va.
Legendary director Sridhar and Sadagopan (Gopu) were classmates and childhood friends. Sridhar initially penned stage plays and even played the hero in some of them while Sadagopan his buddy wrote the humorous portions and played the comedian in them. Later, when Sridhar got the opportunity to direct a film, he asked Gopu to join him and this power packed combination created unforgettable classics in Tamil cinema.
Gopu shares his decades of experience with Bosskey. He speaks at length about his films Kadhalikka Neramillai, Kasethan Kadavulada and Galatta Kalyanam. He talks about Thaai Nagesh - Balaiah combination comedy scene in Kadhalikka Neramillai. He is full of appreciation for actors like Nagesh and Thengai Srinivasan among others for their timing dialogues. He is all praise for legends like Sivaji Ganesan and Manorama for their exceptional contributions to the Film Industry.
