Records from the Therapeutic Goods Administration say Australia is experiencing a shortage in more than 400 medicines – including at least 50 antibiotics.
Manufacturing issues and unexpected high demand impacting popular antibiotics like amoxicillin and the diabetes drug Ozempic, which is also used for weight loss.
Patients can search the medicine shortage database to see if their medication is running low.
Some are expected to be in short supply until the end of the year.
