Natural fibers are fibers that are made from plants and animals. We get natural fibers like cotton, jute, flax etc from plants and wool, fur, silk etc from animals.
The cotton dress that you wear goes through many processes before it actually becomes a wearable material. Each part of a cotton plant has a different use. Long cotton fibers are used to make cloths whereas short cotton fibers are used to make papers. The seeds are used to make oil and the leaves are plowed back into the soil to make this soil more nourished. Remaining parts of a cotton plant are fed to animals.
Jute is similar to cotton but cheaper. It is used to make bags, sacks, rugs etc. it is obtained from the bark of the jute plant.
In this video, you will learn how we obtain cotton and jute.
