Noemi Gonda (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) explores the processes through which authoritarianism can emerge and in particular the roles climate politics and hegemonic masculinities play in these processes. She illustrates her arguments with examples from Hungary and Nicaragua and argues for re-centering the question of democracy in debates on climate justice.
