This video shows the testing of an Alfa Romeo CODE Immobiliser setup after a new master key transponder and two new normal key transponders were created and coded from data stored in the CODE Immobiliser ECU. The 3 transponders are NOT clones of each other but each one has instead been properly coded to use one of the unique codes already previously stored in the CODE Immobiliser ECU.
New transponders can be created and coded this way if one or more of the following situations have occurred:-
1. All the transponders are missing for a CODE Immobiliser ECU.
2. The original master key is missing / lost.
3. Original (unique) transponders for the normal (non-master) keys are preferred instead of just getting one of the existing key transponders cloned to additional keys.
The red and yellow LEDs are indicators for the instrument cluster I.E. and CODE immobiliser lights respectively.
The reason that the red I.E. warning light comes on after the yellow CODE warning light goes out in the demonstration when a known transponder is present is because there are no sensors connected to the engine ECU on the test rig. With this setup the engine ECU has detected open circuits on the sensor connections and is therefore indicating a fault by keeping the red I.E. warning light illuminated.
The important thing to note in this demonstration is that the yellow CODE warning light actually goes out when a known transponder is present thus indicating that the engine has been de-immobilised.
When the ECU gets installed in a car with all the required sensors connected and has had any stored fault codes cleared with diagnostic equipment/software, both the yellow CODE warning light and the red I.E. warning light will go out when you switch on the ignition (assuming a known transponder is used and there are no faulty sensors). So there isn't actually any problem or fault with either of the ECUs in this particular demonstration.
If you have a Fiat or Alfa that uses the CODE 1 Immobiliser system and you don't have a master key or the emergency start code but would like one then please contact me through the following Alfa 145 forum thread link: [ Ссылка ]
