Zam! I surprised a friend a few years back by introducing him to Zam. After he had been cabbing for 20 plus years, he was shocked and dismayed a bit, to admit that he had never, ever heard of someone using Zam to polish turquoise and he even swore that the Zam buffed out 500 or higher grit. Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say it will do that, but Zam will get out 1000 grit or higher in turquoise.
Zam will also put a shine on mother / host rock. It will polish stones at a 6 or 7 on the hardness scale. Anything harder, such as agate, it will not polish.. it is too soft of a polish for this.
Amazon carries Zam, as do other jewelry stores.

For the Felt Soft discs, I really dislike using the screw-on ones... for one, the screw can wind up coming through the felt and nicking the stone. For two, the felt rounds become worn in the screw in area, before the felt is completely used, meaning... the screw strips the rounds form the inside. So, I prefer to use the shanks with a screw top.

Here is a link for the grinding rounds (you can use these shanks for your felt rounds, but sometimes the felt round holes are too small, so keep that in mind, you may need to get different shanks). [ Ссылка ]
