Rep. Don Manzullo spoke in support of the three pending Free Trade Agreements currently before the House of Representatives, which have the potential to generate more exports to create or sustain 250,000 jobs. Last year, the Brookings Institution released a study that the Rockford, Illinois, metropolitan area, which Manzullo represents, exported a record $3.3 billion in 2008, making Rockford the most export-intensive city in all of Illinois. Over 16,000 jobs in the Rockford area rely on these exports. With these three free trade agreements, northern Illinois can export even more of their products to the world.
