The Smooth Fox Terrier was created in the British Isles in the XVII century to serve as a vermin eradicator and hunting dog. The strong probability holds that it originated from crossing such breeds as the smooth-coated Black-and-Tan Terrier, the Bull Terrier, the Beagle and the Greyhound.
