There are many Peranakan communities found in the Nusantara region from centuries ago, the more prominent ones being Singapore, Malacca and Penang. There is also a Peranakan community found in the north east of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Terengganu who recently presented an exhibition at Terengganu State Museum.
