As November wraps up, we're reflecting on a month filled with remarkable activities that embody the Rotary spirit of "Service Above Self." Here's what we've been up to:
🎉 Celebrations and Community Spirit
We kicked off the month with a festive meeting celebrating Diwali and Halloween, blending joy, cultural diversity, and meaningful insights.
Later, we hosted a vibrant Diwali Gala with our Indian diaspora friends, featuring cultural performances, a dazzling fashion show, delicious Indian cuisine, and spirited camaraderie.
🛠️ Service in Action
Partnered with project:HOMES to install a much-needed ramp, making a life-changing impact on accessibility for a community member.
Organized a Toy Drive with the Glen Allen High School Interact Club to bring smiles to children at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond.
Continued our dedication to Feed More, learning about their expanded efforts to combat hunger and supporting their vital mission through food drives and fundraising.
🌎 Rotary Foundation Month
Recognized the Rotary Foundation’s global impact with inspiring updates from Joe Elia, celebrated members like Scott Fresco for their generous contributions, and applauded Stephen Beer for his Rotary International Citation for Meritorious Service.
Honored Raghavan Sadagopan, a Major Donor and Bequest Society member, whose generosity reflects the heart of Rotary's mission.
🏆 Achievements and Recognition
Celebrated the Rotary Club of Innsbrook’s outstanding contributions, ranking 2nd in the district for per capita giving to the Rotary Foundation!
Applauded our club’s legacy of service at the Rotary Foundation Awards, with heartfelt thanks to past leaders like Susan Bishop and Gerard Shaia for guiding us to success.
💡 Club Forum Highlights
During our November Club Forum, we shared progress about the goals for 2024-2025:
Community Service: Projects like garden cleanups at Linwood Holton Elementary, building a Little Free Library at Coal Pit, and supporting YMCA Bright Beginnings.
Youth Empowerment: Collaborations with Glen Allen and Henrico PAL Interact Clubs and sponsorship of students for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.
Global Outreach: Supporting school upgrades in Madurai, India, and participation in Healing Little Hearts in Uganda.
Member Engagement: Social events like our 35th Anniversary celebration, happy hours, and seasonal gatherings.
🌺 32nd Annual Flower Sale Success
Raised critical funds through our flower sale, continuing a tradition that has contributed nearly $350,000 to local charities and nonprofits since 1993. Your support helps organizations like the Coal Pit Learning Center, Shady Grove YMCA, Sportable, and many more.
