Kate Frood, Headteacher of Eleanor Palmer Primary and Senior Partner of our Camden hub, talks about their work on retaining a cross-curricular primary approach to the new Ofsted framework.
Eleanor Palmer School is characterised by its engaging cross-curricular approach. Leaders are determined that all pupils experience exciting opportunities and memorable experiences which connect within a challenging and knowledge-rich curriculum. As a small one form entry school, teachers planned for their year group from a curriculum framework, however the new OfSTED in September 2019 presented a challenge in terms of the ‘vertical’ pathway through a subject and through year groups.
Kate discusses the school's journey pre-lockdown, the centrality of pedagogy to their approach and reflect on lessons learnt from remote learning so far.
